How we work
AbsoCoffee is the coffee project of the Absolute group: knowledge and tools for everyone, Vietnamese coffee for those who want it.
What it is
A site about coffee from cherry to cup: timers, calculators, the coffee belt, Vietnam and Russia in numbers. And coffee from Vietnam, on request.
The money model
The money comes from coffee and the work around it: beans, subscriptions, supply, cuppings and workshops. Guides, timers and calculators are free, with no sign-up and no ads.
Honesty
Figures come with a source and a date. Diagrams are labelled as diagrams. We don’t invent farms, people, reviews or awards; coffee doesn’t cure anything or “burn fat”, and we don’t write that it does.
Data
No cookies, trackers or third-party scripts. Timers and calculators work in your browser. Requests are stored on a server in Moscow; a notification carries only the request number and type.

Coffee ties in with food, travel and activities, and Absolute has a project for each.
Where the data comes from
Harvests and the harvest calendar: USDA FAS and the International Coffee Organization (ICO); Vietnam: USDA, Vietnamese customs and statistics; Russia: Rosstat, the Federal Customs Service and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Every figure on a page has a link and a date.
Maps are based on Natural Earth data (public domain). Caffeine guidance: EFSA. Recipes: guidelines from the SCA and coffee-maker manufacturers; these are conventions, not standards.
The illustrations are drawn in code. Fonts: Unbounded, Onest and Be Vietnam Pro (SIL OFL), served from our own server.
